Lissa Brown is the author of an award-winning humorous memoir, Real Country: From the Fast Track to Appalachia as Leslie Brunetsky, a young adult novel, Family Secrets: Three Generations, a semi-finalist in Amazon’s Emerging Novel Competition, and two novels about the struggles and triumph of a gay boy to overcome bullying in the rural South, Another F-Word and its sequel, Family of Choice. Filthy Money is her first mystery novel.
She turned to writing full-time after careers in education, public relations, and marketing. Her essays and articles appear in several anthologies and journals. An aspiring bluegrass banjo player, she lives with her spouse in North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains where she enjoys being in touch with her inner Heidi.
