Mystery at Camp Piney Woods has just the right amount of suspense for young readers.

Ten-year-old AJ is going to summer camp for the first time, and it is the first overnight trip by herself. While she is packing, her cousin calls and tells AJ there are weird things happening at camp. Lights and strange sounds are scaring the campers. There is a rumor a ghost may be in the Piney Woods around the camp.

Renée Filippucci-Kotz became interested in writing for children while working with foster children.

Her first children’s chapter book was AJ’s Wish (2016). Her second, Pepper’s Misadventure (2017), received honorable mention in the Carteret Writers contest. Also, in 2017, she published her first picture book, Booker and the Stinky Smell. In 2018, she published her second picture book, Smokey and Clover the Runaway Goat. Mystery at Camp Piney Woods is the third book in the Amelia Jae series.

When not writing, she enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her husband and pets. They live in North Carolina.
