The Network sponsors three conferences each year—a Spring Conference in April, a Writing Residency in July, and a Fall Conference in November. These conferences bring together hundreds of writers for workshops, readings, networking, and lively discussion.
July 13-16, Boone
The Squire Summer Writing Workshops offer an intensive course in a chosen genre (fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry), with ten hour-and-a-half sessions over the four days of the program. Registrants work in-depth on their own manuscript samples, as well as their colleagues’, while also studying the principles of the genre with their instructor. Other features include faculty readings, panel discussions, and open mic sessions for residents.
Fall Conference 2017
November 3-5, Wrightsville Beach
The Fall Conference attracts hundreds of writers from around the country and provides a weekend full of activities that include lunch and dinner banquets with readings, keynotes, tracks in several genres, open mic sessions, and the opportunity for one-on-one manuscript critiques with editors or agents. Conference faculty include professional writers from North Carolina and beyond. Held every year in a major hotel, the conference rotates annually.
April 22, Greensboro

Small classes, top writing faculty, and intensive Master Classes and breakout sessions in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, writing for tweens, building your career, and the Facebook Advantage.
